....That’s right I said 20 below zero! Now how many of you, my dear favoritest friends and family want to come visit me??? Besides just being a Aud-sicle, here are something’s that come along with the territory here in Minnesota….
1. you have a dirty windshield, what do you do?? Squirt some washer fluid on it you say? WRONG! This only causes the larger problem of an extremely thin layer of INSTANTLY frozen dirt in front of you that you just have to wait for the defroster to work its magic on. This is one lesson I never seem to learn.
2. I get to listen to Ty rant about how this is the ONLY place that reports the wind chill as the temp. Ie: this morning, they report the temp as –40 degrees and then admit that it is really only –20 with a –40 wind chill. This makes him very upset. That and the fact that the TOP story on the news every night is the weather.
3. Every morning when we wake up to let the dogs out to pee, we actually have to drag Scout over and bump her in the butt to make her get out there. She stands at the door for minute looking pathetic and cold before she realizes shes not getting to come back in until she does her business. Only recently did we realize how she gets back up to the door so fast to come back in. She’s been PEEING ON THE DECK! Blue however, is loving every second of this weather.
4. We keep our thermostat right around 60 in the winter because we are cheap. It’s a huge improvement over the 50 I kept it at when Ty was in Iraq or the 55 last year. 60 may sound pretty cold to some of you but when its this frigid outside, I actually get HOT at night! Last night I actually had to throw the blankets off me.

Oh my gosh. That's insane. All of it, lol. But especially about the part where you used to keep it at 50 in your house! I could never do that...although I think Joe-Z would be willing to try...not me! Good luck surviving those arctic temps!
P.S. YOUR weather is what OUR nightly news is too! Funny!
Ruby likes to hope that I wont make her go outside too...it never works.
Yes, yes, yes to #4! Ryan so doesn't get it either.
It's pretty big news everywhere. You know, I hadn't thought about those poor dogs. Mine would not be happy with it THAT cold. Hope it doesn't last forever.
Aud-sicle...that's hilarious.
LOL....especially about the windshield! I have never done that...LOL>..I would love to see Blue running through all this snow. He is so pretty and I bet it's amazing to watch him in this weather. Poor Scout, it sounds like her and Charlee are both not liking the cold. Charlee comes back in so fast, we sometimes wonder how he can do the job that fast!
