I'm so not good at this "weekly" thing!

So here is my "weekly" recipe! I'm really liking this, I've had a few people tell me they have tried my recipes and like them. That makes me feel pretty good

Creamy Chicken Mignon

4 Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 (10 oz.) Can 98% Fat Free Cream of Chicken Soup
4 Slices of Turkey Bacon
1/2 Cup light Sour Cream
1/4 teaspoon Pepper

1. Wrap 1 slice of bacon around each piece of chicken and brown in a large skillet over medium heat until brown.

2.Mix soup, sour cream and pepper together and pour over chicken. Cook until hot and chicken is cooked through.

This tastes so fabulous and rich but it is pretty light on calories and fat! I serve this with a baked potato for a super quick and yummy meal!

What are you gripping about??? (in the words of my father)

So, I think that I am a fairly optomistic person but there are a few thing that have been errking me (well Ty too) lately.

1.Charities
Let me explain this one before you think that I am a terrible person. Ty and I both pick two charities a year that we give too. Niether one can object to the others (maybe the amount we give but not the actually charity). So here is my problem. We give money and all of the sudden, every charity under the sun is calling! Some of these places sell their lists of donors to other people. That is so wrong!!! Someone called from the police department called asking for donations. I told them that we had donated all that we were able to this year (totally true, we kinda poor). She proceeded to tell me that sense we had donated to the fire fighters that if we were responsible citizens, we would donated to them. I kept telling her that we gave what we could and she would not stop!!!!!!!! It pissed me off so bad!!! It pretty much ensured that we would not be donating to them next year. We are seriously about to the point that we don't want to give at all because they are just going to sell our name!!! We probably get 2 calls a week from differant places now. It is so irritating!

2.Politicians
Ty is a delagate for our district which means that we get lots of literature from canidates, phone calls, etc..... So the represenative in our area is up for re-election. He meets with a bit of resistance because, although he is republican, he doesn't always do the most conservative thing. So he was going unopposed but someone, who claims to be conservative, has stepped up to run against him. This guy is sending us 40-80 page reports of what the current guy has done wrong! He seriously sends information with 95% of what this guy has done wrong and only 5% of what he would do! Ty put it best, he said that he is not going to vote from guy 2 simply to vote against guy 1. It makes no sense. Prove to me that you are worth it and maybe, but don't just bad mouth the other guy. I don't want to vote for either on at this point!

Rant over!

Please understand when I tell you...

..that I have found a new man. Sometimes you just can't help but fall in love at first sight. Ty seems to be happy for me, but I must say that Blue and Scout and not the biggest fans of my new love. I have promised them that it will be a long time until I move a man of this magnitude
into our home but they are still a bit nervous. To be perfectly honest, the only reason that Thor did not come back with me from Memphis was because he couldn't fit in my suit case. So it is fare well to Thor.

We are going to have one of these guys as our next dog (don't worry, we are two dog kind of people, not three) so I got really excited when one of Linna's friends had a couple. I seriously didn't want to leave!

Memphis: Take 2
So we went to the Redbirds game on on friday night and had a lot of fun. When we were picking up our tickets from will call, there were some guys from New York that found out I was from Minnesota and decided to make fun of it a bit. Well, one of them started talking about Fargo and I told him "I'm pretty sure Fargo is in North Dakota, but good try!". He probably asked me 10 times if I was sure and he thought it was in MN. We got a giggle out of that one. Here are some pictures from that game!

What is the point of going to a baseball game if you don't get to see a butt or two, right???
And can anyone tell me what exactly a "redbird" is? It looks like a cardinal to me!!!

I couldn't stop laughing when people started to get the "wave" going. It would make it about 2 sections and then just die. I think we saw them try to start it about 5 times and it never made it. So Linna and I tried to start it. Check it out.

Last thing, I promise!!!!!! I decided to try and make a fancy cake when I was there. I think I was a little over confident. Not good, but not bad. I guess I will just have to keep working on it!!!

the s.s. blog-smith navigates its way to memphis....

...I got to Memphis on Tuesday afternoon after a long flight. The flight wasn't all that bad, but I had a 3 and half hour lay over in St Louis. So instead of a 2 hour trip, it became a 6 hour trip. On my flight from St Louis to Memphis a met a grandma who had this little dog on her lap and, of coarse being me, I had to pet the dog. So we started to talk. She was heading to Memphis for the summer so skeezer was coming with her but she had an infection in her heal so she needed help. I helped her down to the plan and carried Skeezer for her. When we got off the plane, I grabbed the dog and we went and got Helen a wheelchair. She was the nicest women. I really enjoyed talking to her. Her husband had been in the navy his whole life, he died last year and she was never able to have children so Skeezer was her baby. When I got her to her friends she gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. I guess I just needed a little grandma fix sense I don't have any left anymore:)

Well, its official! I found ELVIS!!!!! He is living under the interstate and decided to make a specail appearance just me for me! I guess I have a thing for Army boys:) Linna and I went down to Memphis to go do the tourist-y stuff like find elvis statues and check out the river.

We went over to mudd island where there is a riverboat museum and a to scale replica of the Mississippi that you can climb around it. (okay, its really for kids to climb around in, but I did it anyways) At least I had Linna's daughter Tess with me so I didn't look like a total freak. They have a full size front of a riverboat that you can climb around. Talk about random, they even had one of Elvis' suits. Not sure why.

We had a bit too much fun when we found the cannons, you can see for yourself.

Now, realize that we are just a little goofy. we found a bar on the ship and decide to try it out.

I'm having a really good time though. We are heading to a minor league baseball game tonight so I'm sure I will have more escapades to report on!!!

P.S. if you ever get the chance to have BBQ nachos, do it!
P.S.S. If you didn't already notice, I went blonde again!

I know that idle hands are the devils tool, but COME ON!!!!

I will have time to sleep, think, and breath soon! Things are insane this week between my silent auction (tonight yay!) trying to get some bags done, trying to do laundry, trying to pack, and work a full time job. (I am sensing a patten, I try to much.) It will all be over on tuesday though. So memphis better be prepared for me because I'm coming weather they like it or not!!!

I'm going on a little vacation to see Linna for a week and I am beyond excited!!!! So just for old time sake, here is a picture that I found of me and Linna on a little road trip we took to salt lake to go see a concert, and we took a little detour in our plans. We ended up with us leaving some guys house in Murray(what were we thinking) getting in a major fight (major for us anyways) driving home in the middle of the night and realizing 3 hours later that we hadn't even gotten out of SALT LAKE!!! We made it only to some weird truck/bus depot under an interpass! Fight was offically over, we could help but laugh!!!

My business venture....

..So I had been seeing a lot of Harvey's seatbelt purses around and I really liked them. Unfortunantly, when I was looking into them I found out the run anywhere from $125-$200 and that is not something that I am willing to consider. So I decided to do a little experimenting and I having started making my own seatbelt bags!!!!

I am going to start selling them here in the next few days but I wanted to let any of my friends order some at a lower price before I hit the ground running!!! I listed the price I will sell to my friends for now and then the price that I will start selling for to everyone else so look at the first number. I can make any of the sizes below, plus a lot more if you have something else in mind (just tell me what you are thinking), in any combonation of maroon, black, grey, white, blue, dark tan, and tan. I have been using mainly the bright pink ribbon as an accent but if you like something different, just let me know.

Make up bag: $17 (going to sell for $24)

Medium Purse: $42 (going to sell for $50)

Large purse:$52 (going to sell for $60)

Diaper Bag/Large Tote/Primary Bag: $65 (will sell for $74)
This picture is of a bag that doesn't have the handles on it yet. All of the pictures of finished bags this size are gone off my computer:(

I'm kind of proud of them! What do you think?
