This guy get some major points for style!

So I have been looking around Craigslist for a car and I found this ad. I couldn't stop laughing! Make sure you read through the whole thing:) Its totally serious!

2002 Hyundai Elantra 68k mi $4500

Story Behind My Hyundai Purchase --------------------------------
I shopped around for the cheapest possible car I could find. The Nissan Sentra felt like a tin box with wheels, and the Hyundai Accent felt like a broken tin box with wheels. The Hyundai Elantra won because it felt like a nice tin box with wheels. I didn't really like the color, and I didn't really think the car was that great -- but I was in a hurry to purchase a car because I had just t-boned my brothers Toyota Corolla which had been passed down to me. That -- and the $12,300 price tag.
Things to Note About This Vehicle ---------------------------------
- It has 68k miles - all of which were driven pretty poorly
- which may have been hard on the vehicle
- Other than regular milage maintenance, the car has never had a mechanical issue
- Car was given 60k checkup. An expensive belt was replaced that seems to be important. Things were good.
- New wheels were purchased at 45k miles. Severe damage was done to tires because they were never rotated. The new tires have yet to be rotated. They may have told me the wheel base was bent a little bit. Not sure if there is such a thing as a "wheel base". I just seems to sound right. - Oil changes were few and far between. Probably every 12,000 miles but I really cannot be sure. - The interior of the car smells pretty bad and the original smell may never be attainable. The smell is a mixture of farts that I had to hold in way too long at work, old McDonalds fries stuck in the cracks, and I believe there is a half eaten Egg Sandwich dried up in the trunk but I haven't looked back there for a few months. And then the typical burger wrappers, donut crumbs, etc. - The inside of the car has not been cleaned in well over 18 months - The A/C sometimes smells bad, I have no idea what it is. However, sometimes without even noticing my neck gets frozen after about 20 minutes because the A/C works so well.
- Likewise, the heater works fantastic.
- The radio is after-market. I think it is Sony
- it plays CDs and has bass boost. It also has an mp3 jack that I thought I would use "tons". I've used it about 3 times with my iPod which I've also used about 7 times. AM Stations sound pretty good on it.
- The cloth interior is kind of ugly and based on what I know, no fluids of any kind have gone into the cloth. - The car was stolen back in 2002 and was out of my hands for 2 weeks. It was found 3 blocks from my house. In the back seat was a Hustler, a pair of jeans, and a pipe for weed. There was also a folder with a notebook discussing how they were going to revolutionize the Twin Cities rap scene similar to how Nelly had done so in East St. Louis. The jeans were size 26 which were way to small for me to keep.
- The cup holders are pretty much completely ruined but still usable. There is an uncleanable gelatin-like substance from the numerous leakages stemming from Fast Food paper cups and my inability to remove them from my car.
- The car comes with about 2.70 cents in pennies, nickles, and dimes (all quarters were removed). This change is in the ash tray. The coins are covered with 4 year old ashes from some jerk that ashed weed on my coins while joyriding my car.
- The car used to have golf clubs and rollerblades in the trunk. Those were stolen during the 2 weeks in which my car was gone.
- The floormats were taken out of the car because they are super disgusting. Because of that, the floor of the car is now super disgusting. It is pretty much your choice on what you want to do.
- There is tons of hail damage on the car from a storm this summer. It was parked just outside my garage because the treadmill and bench that I do not use were blocking my parking space in the garage.
- There is a huge dent on the left front wheel well. It does not cause any driving issues. I'm not quite sure how it happened but I'm pretty sure someone smashed a shopping cart into the side of my car. It was a shopping cart hit and run.
- The headlights kind of point toward the ground - you might want to look into it - I don't know how to fix it.
- The wipers are super loud and sqeak and they suck. In 68k miles I have had 2 sets of wipers. I replaced them once and it sucked -- I almost broke a finger and I was sweating really bad. It was a horrible experience. The wipers are cheapies from Holiday gas station.
- The Hyundai Manual is located in the glove compartment just under some melted chocolate from Halloween. I had tons of Halloween candy in my car and needed to hide it when I had people riding in my car. At some point I forgot the chocolate was in there and it melted all over the manual. Hopefully it will harden in the fall and it will crack off pretty easily.
- The trunk has sticky stuff in there - I'm not sure what it is from.
- The gas tank opener on the drivers side floor works about 50% of the time. It is ridiculously annoying. - Most gas tank nozzles only go about half way in for some reason. Just the tip.
- I think there is mouth wash in one of the compartments in the arm rest. I wouldn't use it -- it is from 2003 I think.
- There are tons of pens and pencils in the glove compartment - but no gloves.
- Cruise Control works awesome.
- I think my car has hazard lights that flash both turn blinkers
- Turn signals work beautifully
- There are smell dents on the doors from others opening their door into mine - but they are unnoticable when compared to the hail damage.
- The stuff inside the hood has never really been seen by the owner. Not sure what is all in there but it is still working.
- Jiffy Lube always tells me to replace some air filter. I always decline. You may want to do this at some point.
- I have never really tracked what kind of gas milage my car gets. I did once and I think it was around 26 mpg but I can't be certain. I was going to do it again but it seems like a pain just to find out a number.
- The car gets a little shakey when you get it up past 75 mph which is a nice built in mechanism preventing you from speeding tickets on the freeway.
- The A/C whistles quite often during acceleration. The faster the acceleration the louder the whistle.
- When I flip the heat to defrost the windshield the A/C light turns on. I was assured by Hyundai representatives that the heater and A/C are not both on even though the car is telling you they are both on. They said this feature comes standard in all Hyundais as it turns on some type of compressor which makes the light turn on. I think it was a compressor - does that sound right?
- The color of the car is called midnight grey. However, under the right sunlight it looks purple. For this, I was made fun of. It was adoringly referred to as "The Purple Ninja". Overall the car is excellent and I may not even sell it. If you would like this car for 4500 please email me.

Sunday was the WORST!!!

So the whole story really starts on wednesday of last week. I got a call asking if I would speak on sunday even though it was such short notice. Being the good little girl I said yes. Well, thats all fine but I seriously didn't have more than 3 seconds at a time to sit down through friday. I got up on saturday morning to go deliver papers (Ty and I do this to pay down some debt) and then off to my grandmas house. We had a ton of yard work to do and I was washing the windows too sense it is on the market. We got done with that around 2 and than to my parents to put in some gardens.

We got home at about 7 and a million things had to be done. Needless to say, I hadn't done my talk yet. So Ty, being so nice, said that he would go to the paper route in the morning by himself so I could just get up at 6 and write my talk for 11 o'clock church. This would have been great but the phone rant at 4 am. It was Ty! His car completely broke down and he hadn't even started the route. So I went out, loaded all the papers in my car and we finished the route at 7 am. His car started again but so dangerously close to over heating so we just needed to get it home NOW and figure out what to do. So I followed close behind just in case anything happened. Well, some thing did! But it was to MY car! My muffler went out!!! Can you believe it?????? Mind you I still hadn't written my talk! So we got it home, Ty called Jes' parents to borrow a welding and I headed in to shower, dry my hair, get dressed and write my talk. It was about 8:10 by now because of all the car trouble. So Ty is out in the garage welding my muffler and I am franticly trying to feel the spirit! I yell to him that its 10:15, he comes in showers and we are out the door at 10:40 and to church by 10:55. I gave my talk and want to collapse!!!! It was crazy!

Serenity NOW!!!!!!!!

So its that time of year! The times of year my dog looks like he got in a fight with a grizzley. He has clumps of fur coming out and is just so hot. So I decided that today was the day to try and tackle to brushing. Blue HATES getting brushed and I hate doing it so twice a year we pay the grooming to take himf ro 3 hours and do it for us. We had already done it this season when it stated to get warm.

So I was brushing him for no more than 45 seconds and it already looked like this! You can't tell of that well but there were piles of fur EVERYWHERE! So if you come over anytime soon and it looks like a small pack of rabbits exploded on my lawn, you know why!

Could this be the perfect day???

I went to the store this morning to pick up a few things to make a cake (go figure) and I had to keep myself from crying out with joy when there was a display with these beauties at the door.

Ty thinks I am so weird because I LOVE ketchup on my potato chips. It is so amazingly good on sour cream and chedar chips especially. I had heard about some ketchup flavored chips in canada but never here. And now, they are here!!!!!

I didn't even wait until I got home to bust them out. They were okay but I think I will stick with my ruffles with ketchup but these arn't bad!

One of the simplest, and yet one of my favorite, recipes!

This is really easy! You can do it on the grill, george forman, or pan. Finishes in a glaze.
I make extra sauce because it tastes so yummy with mashed potatoes.

The BEST bbq chicken!
2 servings

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
5 tablespoons ketchup
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

DIRECTIONS
Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic until tender. Stir in ketchup, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few minutes to thicken sauce. Remove from heat, and allow to cool.
Lightly oil the grill grate. Dip chicken in sauce, and turn to coat. Cook on grill for 10 to 15 minutes, turning once. Move chicken to the skillet with sauce. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side.

"I'm so happy you were married in the temple! I worried that you wouldn't!!!"

So I have heard this statement more than once in my lifetime and it makes me sad everytime. I ran into a women who was one of my young womens leaders and she was so shocked to see me in a church setting. So when she told me that she was suprised I had gone through the temple, it really got me thinking. I know I was a bad kid, but I never thought I was THAT bad. I hung out with a bad crowd, made bad decisions, I was an awful daughter, but I went to church every sunday (more because that is what my parents told me I had to do, but I did.)

It took a major fall out the the "crowd" to getting make me understand that if I didn't get out of here, I wasn't going to end up in a place that anyone would be jelous of. So at the begining of the second week in december I called BYU-I and ask was the chances were that I could come for the winter semester even though I had been accepted in the fall and not gone. Luckily, the agreed that I could come. In the same week, my grandpa died. I was the only grandchild so I had been a bit spoiled in my relationship. We headed to St Louis for the funeral. We got back the week after, which was the last week in december. My sister got married that week and I left for school the next day. It was the most emotionally taxing time I had at that point. I was definantly being watched over so that I could get to where I was suppose to be. I got to my new apartment a day before my roomates showed up. They were already living there so things were already set up. My dad helped my move in and we noticed some vugar things written in the bottom of the drawers and on some of the wall hangings. I decided that I was going to wait until I met my roomates before I made judgement. We the girls came (Hi Jeanne and Rachel!!) and were weirded out by the stuff too. Aparently, before the Christmas break the complex had fired a matience worker and he was not happy about it. He had used his key and gone into girls apartments and defiled them. We were really creeped out but got the mild end of it. Some girls had ketchup, syrup, and even human feces smeared all over there clothes!!!!

The point of this story is that I think all of these challeneges were being put in my way because I was doing the right thing. I never had any doubt that I would end up married in the temple but by the choices I made, make the straight and narrow overgrown with weeds. Everyday I risk not being able to find my way back and obviously other people saw that too.

So I will forever be greatful to all of the people lovingly guided me (without me knowing) through this time in my life. I just home that I can help even one other YW through a questionable time.

Recipe one day early!

This is the perfect thing to bring to BBQs. Everyone loves it! I don't use the tomatoes but only because I don't like them.

Taco Dip

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16 ounce) container nonfat sour cream
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1/4 head iceberg lettuce - rinsed, dried, and shredded
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
3 chopped tomatoes
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 (2.25 ounce) can black olives, drained

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning. Spread this mixture in a 9-inch round serving dish or bowl. Top the mixture with lettuce, Cheddar cheese, tomatoes, bell pepper and black olives.

BONUS!!!
This on is actually for Jolyn. I brought this to a get together when her and Daniel were in town and she asked me for the recipe months ago and I keep for getting. So here it is Jolyn! This is seriously one of the best deserts and you can't taste the low fat at all!

CREAM PUFF DESSERT

1 stick butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour4 eggs
Boil together 1 stick butter and 1 cup water. Add 1 cup flour; mix well.
Cool slightly. Stir in 4 eggs, one at a time.
Mix well and spread into 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool completely. Makes a pretty crust.

Take 1 large box vanilla instant pudding add 3 cups milk and 1 (8 ounce) package softened fat free cream cheese. Mix together with wire whip so lumps disappear. Pour into cream puff crust. Spread 8 ounce light Cool Whip on top of pudding and drizzle Hershey's syrup on top. Refrigerate. Keeps very well for days.

Mormon Brain Tumor!

When Ty and I first got married I was very adimit that I would never stay at home with kids and would always have my career. Ty had a bit of a problem with that because he wanted to marry someone who was going to stay home with kids. But, he married me anyways. He says that he knew that I would change me mind. (not sure how but he claims he knew.)

Well, I offically have contracted the Mormon brain tumor. All I want to do is stay home and clean my house. I have to cook everyday because it relaxes me and I enjoy it. I want to spend my saturdays making cakes and doing laundry. What happened to me?????? AHHHHH!

I'm so mad, I shaking!!!

So I was fliping through the channels and there was a Americas Next Top Model re-run was on from this last season. They announced the winner and made it very clear that she was the first "full figured plus size" model. This is where my outrage comes in. SHE IS A SIZE 8!!!!! Sense when is size 8 "plus sized"??? How dare they portray a healthy body as something any less then perfect. Hell, I strive to be a size 10-12 and that sounds great to me let alone a size 8! AGGGGGHHHHH!
